Katie's new life.

What will Katie do with her life now that Lynn is gone?

Now that Lynn is gone I think Katie will try her best do be good for her parents. I even thik that Katie will do the things that Lynn wanted for her to do. I think that Katie will do much much better in school and even go to collage. I say katie will go and get a house in Calfornia and she will become a vet. She will buy her parents her dream house. Katie will eventually find a man for her own heart and then get married. She will have two children and name her daughter after Lynn. She will then tell her children of Lynn and will teach them Kira-Kira.

I think Lynn has helped Katie find what she can do with her life and has helped Katie through a lot of things. I think Katie will always remember what Lynn has done for her and I also think that Katie will carry on with her children the words that Lynn taught her. KIRA-KIRA

Katie felt anger toward Lynn because Lynn just sits around and Katie has to bring everything that Lynn wanted. Katie is like a servant for Lynn. Katie does what Lynn says when she says it. Katie has been staying up with Lynn doing things for her. Even Katie's teachers have noticed. One night when Lynn woke up she asked Katie for some milk. Katie was very tired that night. Katie asked if Lynn was sure and Lynn snapped back at Katie saying " what do you mean are you sure. I want some milk." So Katie went and got the milk for Lynn. when Lynn tasted the milk she made a face. She threw the cup on the ground where the rug is and got the floor wet. Lynn then tell Katie to go and get her some water. By now Katie is really upset because she has to deal with her sister late at night, and she has clean up the rug that her father got for Lynn. Katie's father had to work hard to buy that rug and Lynn doesn't even care. Katie comes back with water, a soapy dishrag, and a towel. She then cleaned up the water. When Lynn drank the water she Said that the water had soap in it. Katie was fed up now and she started to yell at Lynn. So Katie was very upset with Lynn. She was angry at her Because of everything that she has to do for Lynn.

Apache

One surprising fact that I learned when i was studying the Apache tribe, was that the girls have a very big ceremony and the boys have just a little ceremony for their coming-of-age. The girls have a sunrise dance. When the girls have their coming-of-age ceremony, they get blessings and they celebrate. All the boys do is get tested on their strength, skills, and their endurance. I was surprised that the boys had a smaller ceremony than the girls because I thought since that the boys have to learn to hunt and get the food for the tribe that the boys would get a bigger ceremony.

Adolescence

The older days of adolescence and the new days of adolescence. The older days and newer days of adolescence are similar because we all had to go through he same thing. We all had to go through changes we are not used to. We have to adapt to the new things that are happening. The difference between them is that there was a lot going on back then. I mean a lot. There were wars and fights, and and new people coming into our lives. Even today there are wars and fights, and new people, but I think kids back then had to have a lot of responsibility. Like my grandpa, he had to do a lot of chores and do stuff for soldiers that were there in Greece then. Now, we can do what we want and get what we want.(Sometimes) We have people we can talk to about what we are going through. My grandpa didn't have anybody to talk to. He had to rough it out. I think it is easier now because we have learned about what is coming our way. In the older days kids could have been going through this stage without even knowing what was happening to them, so thats why i think it is easier now because we have more knowledge. The changes over the generations is that we have more technology and better medicine, the goverment has changed aswell. We have a lot more these days then what kids had back then.

Kira-Kira

Question: Compare Katie's  mother to her father. Choose which of her parents she is closest to and give reasons for your choice.

Katie's mother is really strict and does not like it when the girls are not lady like. Katie's father tell her things her mother wouldn't approve of. Her father was also proud of Katie when she wet herself. She said her father was proud of them when they did anything. I think Katie favors her father more because in the story she seems to feel like she can talk to her father freely. When she talks to her mother she has to be careful. She can't draw mustaches on her face when they learned that the woman of Ainu had painted them selfs on their faces. Their mother did not like that at all. Her father on the other hand took pictures of them. So I think that Katie favors her father.
